Word of the Week: DREAM

Spiritual Growth • June 13, 2016

Everyone has a dream.  A Dream…

Distinguishes you
Releases your potential
Encourages you to seek
Adjusts your attitude
Motivates you

A dream is the visual activator of who we want to be and where we want to go. A dream is always in the future somewhere out there that we cannot quite put our finger on but we are always seeking it.  We’ve heard the phrase “just living the dream.”  Although that can be true partially, most of us dreamers never stop wanting to realize a new potion of the dream, striving for the next level and the dream just gets bigger after each milestone is achieved.

God has a dream for our lives and a specific plan to be delivered by us.  Each dream is very unique and designed specially for that person using all of the talents, strengths and spiritual gifts that  God, himself placed within us.

Are you living in the pathway towards your dream?  Are there things in your life that get in the way that prevent the dream to become a reality?  Ask yourself what they are and how you might re-prioritize areas of your life to move in the direction of fulfilling the dream. Most importantly, seek direction from God through the Holy Spirit, our divine counselor, to help provide direction, discernment and wisdom.

In the end our collective purpose is to know God, love God and serve God.  The most beautiful part of God’s design, in my opinion, is that He created us to live out this purpose using the desires of our heart and the things in life that we most enjoy. What could be more exciting, joyous and richly fulfilling than a life living out our own dreams that glorify God?  I’ve lived my way and now I live His way – there is no greater adventure, joy and fulfillment than living in God’s will.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart …Psalm 37:4
