As a Christian, I found myself struggling for many years to comprehend God’s purpose for my life. It’s a challenge shared by countless believers, all striving to align more intimately with God and discover their true purpose.
The Dawn of Realization
My journey took a significant turn in 2016 when I received what I can only describe as a wake-up call. At 5 a.m., a persistent thought gripped me – the passage Mark 12:28-31. Not knowing it by heart, I rose to delve deeper. In my kitchen, sipping coffee, I contemplated why this scripture was revealed to me. It spoke of loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and loving others as yourself. This message, though familiar, suddenly resonated with me in a new, profound way.
The Clarity of Christian Purpose
This scripture made it clear to me: our ultimate purpose as believers is not just about individual missions or grand life achievements, but about living our entire lives in a way that honors and glorifies God. It’s about embodying Christ’s light in every aspect – our hobbies, work, family life, relationships, and health.
Transforming My Life and Career
Following this realization, my life took a new direction. As a former CIO for Fortune 500 companies and a consultant, I found myself longing for something more fulfilling. This led me to create 24/7 Purpose®, a ministry aimed at helping believers find their purpose and grow spiritually.
Redefining Christian Purpose, Calling, and Missions
I learned that our life’s purpose is not confined to a singular event or mission. It’s about surrendering to Christ and letting Him guide us through various missions in life. This understanding changed my approach to everything, from how I interact with others to my professional endeavors.
